Round trip from Bergen over Westfriese Omringdijk
Cycle from Bergen via Schagen to Medemblik and along the IJsselmeer to Enkhuizen and Hoorn. To via Ursem and Alkmaar to finish in Bergen again.
Due to the elevated position of the dike you have a fantastic view over meadows and bulb fields and IJsselmeer
Good to know: this route is signposted with special West Frisian Omringdijk signs. These are small signs with Westfriese Omringdijk written in an orange-blue circle and in the middle of the circle a blue arrow for the direction of travel and a cyclist on the side (see photo for an example).
Slightly less convenient is that the route often, but not always, runs over the cycle nodes network.
