Leenderbossen (between Valkenswaard and Leende)

From the A2 Eindhoven - Maastricht, exit 34 Valkenswaard towards Valkenswaard and then exit Leenderbos. There is a spacious parking lot here, so that is the ideal starting point.

SIGNAGE:

I found the first kilometer very confusing. You will soon come to an intersection where the sign directs you straight ahead. But because the path you come out on bends to the right at the end, it is not entirely clear what straight ahead means. Whichever way you walk, you won't encounter a new sign at the next exits! Follow the ORANGE route here! Afterwards you sometimes have to look for a sign, but at least the route is clear.

ENVIRONMENT:

The Leenderbos is very popular with cyclists, with cycle paths to Leenderstrijp and the Achelse Kluis. At the starting point they join the cycle path towards Heeze and Geldrop through the Heezerenbosch. There are several short walking routes and there is also an MTB route. However, this walk covers most of the Leenderbos and I encountered virtually no walkers there (on Sunday, May 6, 2018, a very sunny spring day). Although the paths are all fairly straight, this is still a varied walk. The paths are also easily accessible almost everywhere, which makes this an absolute must.
