From Kalenberg through the Weerribben and Wieden

Kalenbergergracht
At Hotel Café Restaurant Het Rietershuijs you can first grab a terrace, so that you can set off with enough energy. The first kilometers you drive along the Kalenbergergracht, the wide waterway that was the traffic artery of the Weerribben for centuries. In the middle of this rugged nature reserve you experience an almost deafening silence. At the edge you will pass a lookout tower that gives you a unique panorama of the area. Further on you cycle along the Vollenhovermeer and through the Voorsterbos.

Downright
You can also fully enjoy the natural beauty and silence in the Wieden. From the Veneweg, which has been here since 1775, you have beautiful views over the water of the Beulakerwijde and Belterwijde. The hamlet of Ronduite is located on a peninsula in the middle of the two banks. The name refers to the redoubt (military fortification) that was once located here. You drive back to Kalenberg along the Giethoornse Meer.
