Cycling route: 804976
Provided by: route.nl
This route allows you to enjoy nature and culture on the Island of Dordrecht. This island was created by a flood in 1421, the so-called Sint-Elisabeths flood. First you drive on the path along the Wantij. You then cycle through the Dordtse Biesbosch. You have a beautiful view of the untouched and water-rich nature. The Elzen is a relatively young and moist forest where it is wonderfully quiet. In the adjacent Louisa- & Cannemanspolder you drive through a park forest with an orchard and wild grasslands. You enter Dordrecht via the Wittensteinpark. In the old center you will find a historic atmosphere thanks to the many monumental buildings. You can see here, among other things, the fifteenth-century Groothoofdspoort. The route ends with a drink and snack at Eetcafé het Puntje.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
