Walking through the Het Sarsven and De Banen nature reserve

Just below Nederweert in Limburg you will find the Het Sarsven and De Banen nature reserve. Put on your walking shoes for a special trip. From IJsboerderij Gommers you first walk a bit through the fields. You will quickly get into a nice rhythm among the meadows and fields. A little later you walk along the Banen, around the banks you will find plenty of special plants such as bank herb, marsh deer grass and creeping marsh plantain. There is a bird hut on the east side of this fen. To the left of the Banendijk you walk through the Vlakwater, an extensive grassy depression that changes into a rough forest plot. Then you walk to the Sarsven through a strip of willow thickets, gale and dry forests.
