St. John's Chapel
At Fietscafé de Hospes you can sit on a terrace with a coffee and something tasty. Then you set off through Leenderstrijp. In this small village you will see some beautiful old Kempen long-gable farms. Just outside the village you can turn left from Kapelstraat to view the beautiful St. John's Chapel. This monument dates from 1843. Further on you pass the Heimolen, a flour mill from 1754.
Leenderbos
You will have no trouble enjoying the silence and natural beauty in the Leenderbos. The forest is mainly planted with Scots pines that were once intended for mining timber. You will also see heathland, fens, drifting dunes and winding paths here. This beautiful forest area is never boring. On the small heathlands you can encounter the nightjar or the gentian blue. The last part of the route you walk between meadows and fields. What a change!
