View of the Duursche Waarden

The Duursche Waarden is a nature reserve near the hamlet of Fortmond in Overijssel. The area consists of swamps, forests and river arms. Damming the IJssel and intensive use of the floodplains for livestock farming have ensured that the original character of nature has been lost. As part of the Ooievaar Plan, the Duursche Waarden has been reconstructed in its original form. The diversity of the landscape ensures that many different species of flora and fauna occur in the area. This route takes you through the beautiful landscape of IJssel and gives you a beautiful view of the Duursche Waarden from the other side of the river.
