Description
Poppel is a nice place that is easy to explore on foot. In the countryside you walk through a stream valley and through Molenheide, a forest on the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.

Walking between the meadows and fields you get into a good rhythm. You walk for a while through the valley of the Aa, regularly you get shelter from the trees. Every now and then you see a beautiful characteristic farm.
Rovert Chapel
After a while you walk into Molenheide, a forest area where you sometimes have views of agricultural land. At junction 96 you come close to the border along the Rovertkapel from 1735. From 1643 to 1672 there was a border church for the Catholics from Hilvarenbeek here. You walk further into the forest. How quiet it is here! It will not surprise you that many smugglers used to be active here. Back in Poppel you see a few more beautiful monumental buildings.
