The beautiful surroundings of Staphorst

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant Zwartewater. First you drive through the protected village view of Staphorst. Here you will see one monumental farm of the Staphorster type after another. Thatched and usually with doors and shutters painted in the authentic color green. Beautiful! Then you cycle through Boswachterij Staphorst, how wonderfully quiet it is here. In the polders it is nice to rack up the kilometers while driving on car-free roads. You have a beautiful view over meadows and fields, sometimes you ride sheltered under the trees. You drive through the idyllic Reestdal twice: around junctions 90 and 98. Just outside IJhorst you drive along the Kerkweg with its old farms, church and bell tower. Time seems to stand still here.
