Enjoy Giethoorn and the Wieden

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant Zwartewater in picturesque Zwartsluis, after which you cycle into the Wieden. On the edges of this rugged nature reserve you will see reed fields and flowery meadows. You drive between Beulakerwijde and Belterwijde, passing through the hamlet of Ronduite. Further on you drive through Giethoorn, which is also known as the Venice of the North because of its waterways and bridges. You will experience a unique atmosphere here, step off and enjoy it while walking. In the peat area you then drive between extensive meadows. You will pass through several mining villages, a nice contrast with the city center of Meppel, which you will visit later. Thanks to the trading history of this town, you can still see many beautiful monuments here. You cycle back through the Olde Maten peat meadow area.
