Description
This route takes you from A to B: from the picturesque Achtmaal to Belgium. Put on your sturdy shoes for a beautiful route through the border region.
Peat boating
At De Toekomst you can enjoy a delicious lunch on the cozy terrace, so that you can set off with enough energy. You walk on car-free roads through a landscape of fields, meadows, small-scale forest and old peat canals. You will soon notice that it is wonderfully quiet in this border region. Ideal for charging the battery or catching up with your fellow hiker(s).
St. Cornelius Church
You walk a short distance through Belgium: you can mainly see the difference because of the poles with electricity wires. You regularly see a characteristic old farm. There are many tree nurseries in this region, the many plots with small trees make your route extra varied. Back in Achtmaal you can take a look at the St. Cornelius Church, which dates from 1863. Afterwards you can relax at De Toekomst.
