Description
There is plenty to enjoy in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. You will find beautiful dunes and old villages. In the polders you can enjoy the peace and space on car-free roads.
New Lock
The route starts near Hoofdplaat. The first kilometers you can relax your legs along the dike. You have a view of the characteristic Zeeuws-Vlaanderen countryside with its vast fields, meadows and rows of trees.
Oostburg
You can get a breath of fresh air in the dunes before you drive to Nieuwvliet. You can still see a polder mill from 1850 here. Oostburg is the cozy center of western Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Just below this village lies Het Groote Gat: a creek that was once part of a larger creek system that was connected to Het Zwin. In IJzendijke you can take a look at the beautiful old Market, and in Biervliet you can still experience the atmosphere of earlier times.
