Description
It is wonderful to walk through the green landscape around the Twente village of Hertme. Put on your sturdy shoes and come here to relax.
Millven
At Restaurant't Hertme\\\'s Ambacht you can enjoy a drink and something tasty at your leisure, so that you can set off with enough energy. You walk along the unpaved Kerkweg into the fields. It is nice to walk through the fields, meadows and rows of trees here. You will rarely encounter cars here, so it is wonderfully quiet. Every now and then you pass a characteristic farm. Further on you walk through the woods around the Molenven.
Gammelkerbeek
You walk back to Hertme through the fields. You pass the neo-Gothic St. Stephen's Church from 1903. You also pass the striking open-air theater that was built in 1955 on the initiative of pastor Jan Veeger. The roof was installed in the 1960s. Many performances have been performed in the theater, such as Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. You walk along a narrow footpath along the Gammelkerbeek: what a wonderful walk here!
