The picturesque Oegstgeest is easy to explore with a walk. Put on your sturdy shoes for a tour full of variety and historical sights.
Marina Poelgeest
From the park you can walk into Oegstgeest in no time. From junction 2 you walk past the Poelgeest Marina, where you can see nice boats floating on the water. In the background are still some grasslands of an old polder area that is now surrounded by urban buildings.
Oudenhof mill
It is a quiet walk along the leafy banks of the Oegstgeest canal, while looking out over the rippling water and the reed beds. Further on you pass the Oudenhofmolen, a small but beautiful polder mill from 1783. The Bos van Wijckerslooth is a green oasis that was laid out around 1810 in the English landscape style. You can still see some centuries-old oaks and beeches here. The route ends in Leidse Hout, a city park that was created as a job creation project in the 1930s.
