Neighborhood near Duurstede
Enjoy a delicious meal at't VeerHuys and step onto the ferry with your bicycle in hand. You drive over the dike to Wij bij Duurstede, an ancient town with a well-preserved center. The area around Langbroek used to consist mainly of swamp forest. Due to the reclamation via waterways and ditches, a characteristic battle landscape was created here. The residential towers here, such as Kasteel Sterkenburg, initially functioned as a defense, but later as a status symbol.

Werkhoven
From afar you can already see the church tower and the water tower in Werkhoven. First you pass the Rhine and Weert, a corn mill from 1882. In the picturesque center of Werkhoven you can taste the atmosphere of bygone times. The Sint Stevenskerk originally dates from 1100. Further on you will pass Wickenburgh country estate, which dates from 1300. You also cycle through the hamlet't Goy, which arose around a former medieval castle.
