Description
Cycling along the Linge you have a beautiful view from the dike over vast grasslands and the rippling water. You also pass through old villages where you pass many sights.
Picturesque Beesd
Over the dike you drive to the Mariënwaerdt estate. On this private estate there are many monumental buildings, such as farmsteads, haystacks and flood barns. A little further on you experience the atmosphere of times gone by in the picturesque Beesd. Time also seems to have stood still a bit in Acquoy, you see, among other things, the fifteenth-century church tower that is slightly out of plumb.
Old fort
KunstFort Asperen is an impressive monument, definitely worth getting off. A little further on you drive through Leerdam, a beautiful and cozy town. While you drive along the dike along the Linge, you can get a breath of fresh air and admire some characteristic old farms. A nice way to recharge the battery. The next village worth seeing on your route is Rumpt.
