Description
Cycling along the Linge you have a beautiful view from the dike over vast grasslands and the rippling water. You will also pass through old villages where you will pass many sights.
Picturesque Beast
You drive over the dike to the glory of Mariënwaerdt. There are many monumental buildings on this private estate, such as homesteads, haystacks and flood barns. A little further on, in picturesque Beesd, you will experience the atmosphere of times gone by. In Acquoy, too, time seems to have stood still a bit, you can see the fifteenth-century church tower, which is somewhat out of plumb.
Old fortress
KunstFort Asperen is an imposing monument, definitely worth getting off. A little further you drive through Leerdam, a beautiful and cozy town. While driving on the dike along the Linge, you can get a breath of fresh air and admire some characteristic old farms. A nice way to recharge the battery. The next village worth seeing on your route is Rumpt.
