Strabrechtse Heide Northwest

For those driving via the A67, junction 46 is a good starting point. You can also drive to the end of the dead-end road and park the car at Manege Meulendijks, where you have an extensive terrace. An excellent alternative is located a little further away at junction 50. There is also a spacious parking lot, especially for walkers/runners who want to walk across the Strabrechtse Heide. 

DIRECTIONS:

The Strabrechtse Heide is my favorite piece of nature in the Netherlands. The main reason for this is the fact that pedestrian and cycle paths wind wonderfully, so you always seem to have a different view. This walk follows a significant part of the cycle path (junctions 57 to 44). These are easily accessible, spacious paths. This route is not recommended on very hot days, because the crossing of the heath provides almost no protection from the sun. The starter (from 46 to 50) takes you to a few beautiful places that you cannot see as a cyclist. 

SIGNAGE:

Junction 50 is confusing. Here you must turn right, cross the cycle path and follow the heath path! Further on there is another point where I went wrong last time. This concerns a three-way junction where there is no sign. This can be recognized by the fact that you will see a sign BRANDWEER 20 on the right. You have to go straight here!
