A day of Brabant and Belgian enjoyment

Between Bergen op Zoom and Kalmthout it is beautiful to cycle through the fields and the Brabant and Belgian forests. You will also pass through some characteristic villages.

Nispen
The route starts in Hoogerheide. From here you drive to Huijbergen, where the Mill Johanna is located: a flour mill from 1862. Further on you make a refreshing stop at Trapke op. Enjoy something tasty at your leisure on the terrace before cycling through the countryside to Nispen. Just past junction 94 you will see the Peace Chapel, which was built to commemorate war victims. Further on you cross the border and drive through Essen.

Kalmthoutse Heide
You cycle through the Wildertse Duintjes, a relief-rich and varied forest with open spaces, shrubs, drifting dunes and heath remnants. How wonderfully quiet it is here! Further on you drive through the forests of the Kalmthoutse Heide. At the Kalmthout Tourism Office you can find plenty of information about this fascinating region. You drive back to the Netherlands through the border village of Putte, where you drive a few kilometers through the forests of Grenspark De Zoom.
