Description
A tour along the Veerse Meer guarantees a beautiful cycling day. This route also takes you along the beach at the Veerse Gatdam. And of course Veere is not missing.
Veer Lake
You can get a breath of fresh air here on the cycle path, while enjoying beautiful views. You pass the forest on the edge of the Goudplaat, a former island. Further on you cross the Veerse Gatdam, completed in 1961, the third structure of the Delta Works. On the beach you can paddle and listen to the surf.
Veere
It is also wonderful to make kilometers on Walcheren. You pass through Veere, a small but oh so charming town. You can see some beautiful old buildings here, such as the town hall that still has its original centuries-old facade. The Campveerse Toren dates from the fifteenth century. You cross De Piet, a side arm of the Veerse Meer. To the left of the road you see forests and then the unspoilt Middelplaat, a few uninhabited islands in the Veerse Meer.
