Description
Walcheren is a wonderful place to go for a walk. This route takes you from Vrouwenpolder to the Oranjezon dune area and the beach. What are you waiting for?
Pilgrim's Church
You start the route in the village of Vrouwenpolder. You can still see some beautiful old buildings here. You will also pass the Pilgrim's Church from 1622. In the polder you walk on sheltered, leafy roads and on a sandy path between meadows and fields. It is nice and quiet walking here under the low exaggerating clouds. Ideal for catching up with your fellow hikers. Occasionally you pass a beautiful old farmhouse.
Oranjezon
Further on you walk into Oranjezon. In this nature reserve you will successively see forest, thicket and strips of dune grass and marram grass. Then you walk on the beautiful wide sandy beach, while listening to the soothing sound of the surf. That never gets boring! You walk back through the dunes to Vrouwenpolder.
