Cycling along the Zeeland-Flemish border

The border area between Zeeland and Belgian Flanders is wonderful for cycling. You will find plenty of natural beauty, peace and space and historical sights. The right ingredients for a day of enjoyment.

Royal Forest
The route starts on the edge of Het Zoute, the easternmost seaside resort in Belgium. From here you quickly drive through the Koningsbos. Then you cycle many kilometers through the polders on roads where there are hardly any cars. Here you drive through a landscape of ditches and vast fields and meadows. What peace you experience here! In the village of Hoeke you can see, among other things, the beautiful church of Saint James the Greater.

The Zwin
You drive along the leafy banks of the Damse Vaart to Sluis. You take a tour around the fortress moat, after which you drive through the picturesque border village of Sint Anna ter Muiden. You can get off at D\\\'Ouwe Schuure for a refreshing pit stop before driving to the former garrison town of Retranchement. Further on you pass through Cadzand, another picturesque village. Finally, you cycle through the cross-border nature reserve Het Zwin. What natural beauty!
