A day of cycling through the Westland

In the Westland you will find a backdrop of polders, old villages, extensive greenhouses and waterways. First you cycle east to park De Uithof. Further on you pass through Wollebrand and the Kraaiennest, two wetland nature areas. Schipluiden is a nice town, on the quay along the Dorpsstraat you can see some beautiful monumental buildings. Along the Vlaardingervaart it is nice and quiet cycling along the rippling water, reed collars and grasslands. A little later you pass the Vlietlanden. This nature reserve has never been mined, a rarity in this region. At't Wapen van Maeslant you can enjoy a cozy terrace before cycling to Hoek van Holland. You pass two lighthouses, you also pass through the deciduous forest of's-Gravenduin. In the lee behind the dunes you cycle back to the parking lot.
