Description

Water accompanies cyclists on the 65 km long Möhnetal cycle route. Relax and follow the small river Möhne through the northern part of Sauerland. From the source of the Möhne near Brilon, the route leads through flowering meadows and forests on an old railway line. At the Möhnesee, one of the largest reservoirs in North Rhine-Westphalia, you can enjoy a small picnic.

The Möhnesee also has an impressive dam that is more than a hundred years old. Here you can choose whether you want to continue cycling along the north or south bank. Both variants offer a great view over the water landscape. Of course you can also cycle around the entire lake. In Arnsberg-Neheim, the Möhne finally flows into the river Ruhr. This is how you discover two rivers in one day.
