Description
On Goeree-Overflakkee you can take a cycling tour that is full of variety. You drive through forests, dunes and along the beach. You will also pass through the charming Ouddorp.
Oostduinen
The route starts at Museum Ouddorps Raad- en Polderhuis. This museum is housed in a beautiful monument from 1904, built in neo-Renaissance style. In the area you can admire the village church from 1348 and several other beautiful buildings. Then you cycle out of the village. Goeree-Overflakkee has a lot of natural beauty. For example, you will pass through the Oostduinen, one of the most unique and valuable dune landscapes in the Netherlands.
Koudenhoek
It is nice to cycle on car-free roads around Stellendam and Melissant. Here you can fully enjoy the views over the meadows. From junction 71 you drive through the Slikken van Flakkee. This unspoilt nature reserve consists of a mixture of dried-out soil, shallow water and mudflats and salt marshes that have eventually become overgrown with rye, grasses and shrubs. Koudenhoek is located just before junction 59: from the dike you look out over bird-rich meadows and creeks.
