Description
The water castle route with a length of approximately 470 km runs almost without slopes on the edge of the Eifel and the Cologne Bend through the area with the most water castles in Europe. Discover the beautiful landscape of the Eifel, the Jülicher Börde and the Rheinische Bucht with numerous cultural treasures by bike! No other place can you find so many water castles in such a tight space as in the city triangle of Aachen, Cologne and Bonn. The main route passes more than 120 castles and castles. The variety of moated castles and castles provides a glimpse into the varied history of the region, which was plagued by many conflicts during the time of dukes and knights.
