Description
Kessel is a beautiful village on the Limburgs Maas. Put on your walking shoes for a nice detour, where you cross the Maas on a ferry. Suitable for with the kids!
Ferry
First you walk a bit along meadows and fields. You walk on a dirt road for most of this loop. It is nice and quiet here, ideal for a nice chat with your fellow hikers. At junction 9 you cross the Maas. With a ferry: that is always a fun experience, no matter how old you are.
Beautiful Kessel
In Kessel you can walk on a beautiful footpath along the Maas. You look out over the rippling water and the boats. Keverberg Castle is a nice excursion. Children can go on an exciting treasure hunt here! And then enjoy a refreshment at IJssalon Clevers Kessel, just like you of course. Walking through the Markt you will see an old water pump and some beautiful monumental buildings. Further on is the Church of Our Lady of the Nativity from 1873, designed by Pierre Cuypers.
