Description
In the Oude IJssel region, cultural history is there for the taking, such as in the beautiful town of Terborg. You can also take a trip to the Hanseatic city of Emmerich am Rhein and the forests of Montferland.
Hanseatic city of Emmerich
The first few kilometers take you through an old cultural landscape. It is a beautiful area to cover some distance. You pass Wijngoed 't Oerlegoed, a genuine vineyard. In Emmerich am Rhein, you can enjoy a breath of fresh air along the Rhine embankment. In the old town center, you can see St. Aldegundis Church and St. Martin's Church.
Picturesque Terborg
You drive through the forests of Montferland for a while. Just enjoying the fresh air and the silence. In Zeddam, you pass the Volharding, a grain mill from 1891. Further on, you see the Grafelijke Korenmolen standing on a raised platform. This tower mill is the oldest surviving windmill in the Netherlands. It dates back to 1441. And what about the beauty of Terborg, a small town on the Oude IJssel? How beautiful this region is!
