Description
The premium hiking trail "Meinvennen" is located east of Roermond in the German-Dutch border park Maas-Swalm-Nette. This varied trail leads over forest paths, through heathland landscapes with fens, through swamp forests with alders and birches and along bog myrtle fens.
Characteristic are the terrace edges that have been formed over thousands of years by the erosion of the primeval river valley of the Meuse. The two streams Rode Beek and Boschbeek flow on the terraces, which flow into the Roer. The route leads through the forests of the Luzekamp and through the wetlands of Melickerven and Herkenbosscherven. With its flora and fauna, the tour is a wonderful experience for nature lovers in every season.
