Description
The varied premium hiking trail"Galgenvenn\\\" leads you through impressive nature - sometimes on the German side, then on the Dutch side. If you start in a southerly direction at restaurant Galgenven, you will first pass through the enchanting border forest. The idyllic Sonsbeck Ven and the beautiful Lange Ven together form the Heidemoore nature reserve.
You continue through a forest of tall trees to the picturesque gravel pit, which is located in the middle of a landscape that has been restored to its natural state. Sky blue lakes are very attractive for recreation. In a northerly direction, narrow paths along the Meuse slope lead you to the"Schlucht\\\" nature reserve with a magnificent view of the Maas valley. From there you reach the Dutch nature reserve Holtmühle and the open heath landscape"Hühnerkamp\\\". You reach the starting point again through an avenue of oaks and past giant sequoias, streams and flax pits.
