The Wupper round is an approximately 44 km long circular cycle route, which connects the Panorama cycle route Balkantrasse via the Bergisches heights with the idyllic valley of the Wupper. He passes beautiful sights such as Burg Castle and the flower city of Leichlingen, which is also known as the Bergische fruit chamber.
From Leichlingen-Balken you initially drive to the Diepental dam and you arrive at the station Pattscheid at the entrance to the Balkantrasse. About half of the route runs on the'Balkantrasse\\\' train route cycle route with only a slight incline, from Burscheid to Wermelskirchen. From Solingen-Burg, the Wupper route leads in the valley of the Wupper back to Leichlingen-Balken.
In the valley of the Wupper, between Solingen-Burg and Leichlingen, you can experience pure nature. Wonderful views of the river landscape of the Wupper, which has been reclaimed by nature and with many different types of plants, alternate with mills and hammers such as the Wipperkotten, where the last grinders of Solingen still work with water power today. In addition, the cyclist goes on a discovery tour through the namesake of the Bergisches Land - Burg Castle as the residence of the Count of Berg is a must for a trip to the Bergisches Land. With the cable car you can float up and down the approx. 100 vertical meters between Unterburg and Oberburg - and your bicycle (Pedelecs up to 20 kg) can even be taken with you.
