From the Alblasserwaard you take a tour through the Brabant and Dutch parts of the Biesbosch National Park. Enjoy the natural beauty, the abundance of water and the silence!
Biesbosch
You will pass Fort Het Steurgat from 1882, it is the southernmost fortress of the New Dutch Waterline. From the recently constructed cycle path you have a beautiful view of the rippling water of the Nieuwe Merwede. You drive a bit through De Biesbosch National Park, what beautiful nature!
Dredging Museum
Just past junction 4 you will find De Wassende Maan on the left of the road. Climb the elevation to get a good look at this work of art. You cross the Nieuwe Merwede again, after which you drive past the unspoilt nature of the Sliedrechtse Biesbosch. On the Molendijk in Sliedrecht you will find the unique Bagger Museum, which is located in a historic building: a nice break! From the canal you will soon have a beautiful view of the Beneden-Merwede.
