Description
From the Alblasserwaard you make a round through the Brabant and Holland part of the Biesbosch National Park. That will be enjoying the natural beauty, the many water and the silence!
Biesbosch You pass Fort het Steurgat from 1882, it is the southernmost fortress of the New Dutch Waterline. From the fairly recently constructed cycle path you have a beautiful view over the rippling water of the Nieuwe Merwede. You cycle a bit through National Park De Biesbosch, what beautiful nature!
Baggermuseum Just past junction 4, on the left of the road, lies De Wassende Maan, climb the elevation to get a good look at this work of art. You cross the Nieuwe Merwede again, after which you drive along the untouched nature of the Sliedrechtse Biesbosch. On the Molendijk in Sliedrecht you will find the unique Baggermuseum, which is housed in a historic building: a nice stop! From the canal you will have a beautiful view of the Beneden-Merwede a little later.
