The approximately 39 kilometer long Dhünn round runs from the Rhine at Leverkusen upstream along the beautiful river Dhünn to the large Dhünn dam. Learn more about the wonderful nature, both on the heights of the Bergisches Land and on the floodplains of the Dhünn and cycle along the traces of the impressive industrial culture along the Dhünn to the Rhine at the same time. The circular route passes by beautiful sights such as the Altenberger Dom, the historic old center of the municipality of Odenthal and the industrial museum Freudenthaler Sensenhammer.
Almost half of the route runs on a continuous asphalted and up to five meter wide train track cycle route'Balkantrasse\\\', with only a slight incline. Back to Altenberg to the Rhine via the Dhünnweg, which is quite narrow in parts. An information system explains the history of the area.
We recommend cycling the lap in a clockwise direction. From the Rhine, you will initially cycle gently up the'Balkantrasse\\\' to Burscheid and Odenthal-Blecher, and then quickly ride downhill towards the Altenberger Dom. From here it then continues leisurely along the Dhünn, back to Leverkusen.
