The aqualon round is a circular route that connects the panorama cycle path Balkantrasse and the Bergisches panorama cycle path near Hückeswagen via the Bergisches heights with the large Dhünn dam. Along the route are sights such as the Altenberger Dom and the historic old town of the castle town of Hückeswagen.
The theme of water is central to the approximately 53 kilometer long route. The :aqualon round offers a wonderful view of the landscape of protected dams and the particularly beautiful nature in many places. In addition, cyclists can also discover the sights of the region and walk in the historical footsteps of water management - for example when climbing the former water tower'Hindenburg Tower\\\'.
About half of the route runs on the Panorama Cycle Route Balkantrasse from Burtscheid to Wermelskirchen and via the Bergische Panorama Cycle Route to Hückeswagen. Due to its low slope, this section is particularly suitable for families or recreational cyclists. The rest of the route is particularly interesting for sporty cyclists. In keeping with the topography of the Bergisches Land, things are tough here. You have to bridge some altimeters.
