Description
From Kruiningen you can take a bike ride through the beautiful Zuid-Beveland. You can fully enjoy the peace here, ideal if you want to unwind for a day.
Zeeland old country
The route starts at the edge of Kruiningen. After you have cycled through this nice village, you will soon come through the hamlet of Vlake. Further on you cycle a bit through the Yerseke and Kapelse Moer. This old land forms one of the last pieces of authentic Zeeland polder landscape. The old, small-scale parcelling pattern is still recognisable by the location of the ditches. Then you cycle a bit on the cycle path along the Kanaal Door Zuid-Beveland, which was opened in 1866.
Western Scheldt
A little later you will cycle through the characteristic landscape of Zuid-Beveland. You will see vast meadows and many orchards that give this region extra colour during their flowering period. You will pass the Kloetingse Molen, a white corn mill from 1704. Cycling over the dike along the Westerschelde you will have beautiful views.
