Impressive rock formations, impressive old trees, idyllic streams and historical traces of slate mining can be found on the 13-kilometre circular route.
Starting point is the'Reisegarten\\\' Raumland (travel garden). From here you walk over the stones through the Eder. You then pass a rest area, walk under the old train dam and via the steep slope'Heiligeholz\\\' you reach the Naturschutzgebiet (NSG) Honert (nature reserve). After the steep climb you walk through a mysterious oak forest, where there are numerous rocky cliffs. The descent takes you to the valley of the Meckhäuser stream.
Then you pass the NSG Fredlar (nature reserve) with impressive slate mountains and a coulisse-like quarry. After a brisk climb you reach more impressive rocky cliffs and then the crest of Mount Fredlar. On the descent into the Steinbach valley, you come to traces carved into the rock, relics of an old road to Marburg. You cross the L 718 and reach the hiking parking lot'Auf der Lenne\\\'. Shortly afterwards you have a nice view of the old center of Bad Berleburg. You walk through a dead wood forest and end up in the vast NSG'Gribengelände Hörre\\\' (nature reserve). At its foot lies the slate village of Raumland with its important original church. At the exit of the nature reserve we end the circular walk.
