Description
With this special cycling route you will become acquainted with the turbulent history of our region, from the Stone Age to the industrial age. Over more than 150 kilometers, this route connects seven historic city centers of Lipperland with each other, with something to experience in every city. Along the way you will get to know the many mansions, castles and estates that this region is rich in, and you will discover how this route gets its name.
Three stages
The ring road can be cycled in both directions and is well signposted with the red signs"FürstenRouteLippe\\\". Those who find 150 kilometers a bit too much of a challenge can also choose to cycle only one or two of the three sections.
The first stage starts in Detmold. You can cycle straight into nature from the station. Along the way you will get to know Schloss Iggenhausen and the spa town of Bad Salzufeln. The advantage of the first stage is that it is very flat.
From Lemgo along the Schiedersee back to Detmold
The second stage starts in the Hanseatic city of Lemgo, where you should definitely pay a visit to the'Hexenbürgermeisterhaus\\\' before you hop on your bike. On the way to Detmold you can stop at the SchiederSee; a wonderful nature reserve with a lot of recreational opportunities.
