Bielefeld is one of the most worth seeing towns in the Teutoburg Forest. This historic city is surrounded by greenery and is therefore an ideal starting point for various beautiful cycling routes. But of course you can also cycle through the city itself; with the 25.3 long"Grüne Netz\\\" you can discover the well-known and lesser-known sights of this'weaver town\\\' from the saddle.
Green and culture
The tour starts in the heart of the city center, at the VVV. It soon becomes clear where this cycle route owes its name: via the Ravensberger Park and numerous other green spots you will be taken to rural Bielefeld, where meadows, farms and streams play the leading role. Along the way, BBQ places and playgrounds invite you for a short stop. Back in the center you can soak up some culture at the Historical Museum or the Kunsthalle Bielefeld.
Westphalian enjoyment
When you have seen enough of the area, the ring road takes you back to the center of Detmold. Here you can enjoy the tastiest regional specialties in one of the many cozy restaurants.
The Grüne Netz is continuously and clearly signposted. The roads mainly run on straight stretches and not directly along busy roads. There are also few slopes, making the cycle route suitable for hobby cyclists and families with (young) children.
