Description
This cycling route starts in Zwolle and from there you cycle along the IJssel to Wijhe.
Here you cross the river on your way to Heerde. Enjoy the view over the water.
When you cycle out of Heerde again, you will pass Vosbergen Estate and Castle.
Vosbergen Castle is a national monument, country estate and estate in Heerde in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Uniquely, the house has undergone few changes or extensions since its construction, making it a rare example of a well-preserved, moated, brick nobleman's house of modest size.
Before you finally end up back in Zwolle, you will cycle through charming Hattem. Have a drink on a terrace or eat a sandwich at a lunchroom. Or take a look at the bakery museum or the Anton Pieck Museum. Fun fact about Hattem: In 1989, this Hanseatic city was the only one in the Netherlands to be awarded the European designation 'Best Kept Village'.
