From Swolgen to the Schuitwater

Swolgen is a charming village in Limburg, near Horst. From the village centre you can walk to the Tienraijse & Swolgenderheide and the adjacent Schuitwater.

St. Lambertus Church
The choir of the Sint-Lambertus church largely dates back to the fifteenth century, the rest of the church had to be rebuilt after the Second World War. You can walk into the countryside in no time. The fields and meadows quickly make way for forest and heath.

Barge water
The Schuitwater has formed around a former arm of the Meuse. In this varied nature reserve you will find alder swamp forests, open water and moist grass and hay fields. But there are also dry plots with small-scale deciduous forests. It is also nice to walk in the adjacent Tienraijse & Swolgenderheide. On a slightly sloping path you walk between the fragrant conifers.
