From Swolgen to the Schuitwater

Swolgen is a charming village in Limburg, near Horst. From the village center you can walk to the Tienraijse & Swolgenderheide and the adjacent Schuitwater.

Saint Lambertus Church
The choir of the Sint-Lambertus church largely dates from the fifteenth century, the rest of the church had to be rebuilt after the Second World War. You can walk into the countryside in no time. The fields and meadows quickly make way for woods and heaths.

Barge water
The Schuitwater has formed around a former Maas arm. In this varied nature reserve you will find alder marsh forests, open water and moist grass and hay meadows. But there are also dry plots with small-scale deciduous forests. It is also nice to walk in the neighboring Tienraijse & Swolgenderheide. You walk on a slightly sloping path between the fragrant conifers.
