Description
The Houtrak is a forest that is part of the Spaarnwoude nature and recreation area. Put on your sturdy shoes for a refreshing walk through this forest and along the surrounding polder.
Wood rack
First you walk into the Houtrak. Here you will find a mix of woods, flowery bushes and streams. A varied environment in which you can switch back effortlessly. Ideal for charging the battery and catching up with friends and family. In the fall you can pick an apple in the orchard.
Polder
After a while you walk out of the forest. You walk through the polder on quiet paths and roads. It is wonderfully quiet under the high Dutch skies. Here you have beautiful views of meadows and ditches that have been reclaimed in the Middle Ages. The old allotment pattern can still be clearly seen in the landscape. You walk back through the Houtrak to Brasserie Halverwege. Are you having something sweet?
