It is nice to cycle around Diepenheim, Markelo and Goor. In this rural region you can enjoy the natural beauty and the charming old villages.
Markelo
From HertenHoeve De Lavei you drive into the countryside. You cycle between meadows and fields, occasionally there is also a small forest plot on your route. In pleasant Markelo you have plenty of time to take a break and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. You will see characteristic farms, and the Martinus Church from 1840 is also a sight to see. Further on you drive past the rolling forests that lie on and around the moraine of the Herikerberg.
Diepenheim
There are also a number of beautiful buildings in the cozy Goor, such as the Hofkerk from 1600. Diepenheim Castle originally dates from 1180, the current manor was built in 1685. A little further on is the monumental Johanneskerk from 1679. Then you drive through the sparsely populated fields. Enjoy the silence, that's relaxing. In Geesteren, take a look at the Reformed Church, which originally dates from the eleventh century. It is one of the few churches with a gable roof.
