Discover nature at Haaksbergen

Your route starts at Boerderijappartementen & Camping't Katreel. The quiet Buurserzand is unique in Europe due to its size and wet character. You will see a mosaic of heathlands with hundred-year-old juniper berries, forests, small fields and a few orchid meadows. A little further on you cycle through the Haaksbergerveen, one of the most beautiful raised bog areas in the Netherlands. Then you cycle through a part of Germany. Here too you cycle on car-free roads, so that you can fully enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility. Such as at the Ammeloer Venn, a nature reserve with wet and rough grasslands where many birds live. At the border you pass the Haarmuhle, a 350-year-old water mill. Rekken is a beautiful village on the Berkel. Here you will see, among other things, the Piepermolen, a corn mill from 1796.
