Just outside Eibergen is the Mallumse Molen, a watermill from 1748. From this beautiful spot you can take a bike ride through the Achterhoek. That will be a day of peace and quiet and even more sights.

Half-timbered barn
Enjoy a cozy terrace at Restaurant Het Muldershuis before you get on your bike. Soon you will see a beautiful monumental half-timbered barn on the left of the road. On the right was once the manor Mallum, now a landscape artist has created a labyrinth. In the sparsely populated Achterhoek it is wonderful to cycle through the bocage landscape of farmland, bushes and streams. You will have no trouble switching back for a day here.

Atmosphere of yesteryear
You pass through the mixed forests on Landgoed Lankheet. Old pine trees can be found on the drifting sands. Further on you will pass De Atmosphere van Weleer, a private local history museum in an old barn from 1860. Rekken is a beautiful village on the Berkel, where you can see some authentic Saxon farms. You will also pass the Piepermolen, a flour mill from 1796. Just after you have crossed the Berkel, you will pass the Kruidenhof in Mallum.

The most famous windmill type in the Netherlands. Windmills were used not only to produce flour from cereals, but also to reclaim polder areas. Natural energy. The most famous windmills can be found in Kinderdijk, really set up as a polder model. A must see!

Martelaren van Gorcum kerk

40
7157 AE Berkelland

The church was dedicated to the Martyrs of Gorcum in 1870. These monks were murdered in 1572 by the Geuzen (people who resisted Spanish rule during the Eighty Years' War) because they refused to convert to the Protestant faith. The Martyrs of Gorcumkerk was founded 300 years after the death of the monks and is therefore dedicated to them.
