Description
Utrecht, Vianen, forts and waterways: fans of Dutch cultural history will find plenty to enjoy on this route. You see one beautiful monument after another. You also enjoy the special natural beauty. On the Leidse Rijn you pass the large building of the Royal Dutch Mint, where Dutch Euro coins are minted. You enter historic Vianen via the beautiful Lekpoort. You pass Fort Everdingen and the position of Werk aan het Spoel. On the Island of Schalkwijk you drive along Werk aan de Groeneweg, just past Houten you see the former Fort Rijnauwen. Fort Voordorp is the last attraction on this beautiful route.
