Walking through the area around Westhove Castle

On the coast of Walcheren you will make a beautiful walk through the forests of the Manteling. You will also pass through Domburg and along Kasteel Westhove. You start this walk at Frieterie De Bostent. After your walk you can enjoy a home-made fries and a tasty snack. From the beach you cross the dunes and walk into the Manteling. Hardly anywhere else in Europe do deciduous trees grow so close to the coast as here. You walk a bit through the pleasant seaside resort of Domburg. Then you walk to Kasteel Westhove, which originally dates from the thirteenth century. On the estate you will see some beautiful old deciduous trees. What a wonderful walking route on a beautiful part of Zeeland: it is quiet in the polder, you can enjoy a breath of fresh air at the sea.
