Kinderdijk Windmills
From the dike you look out over a vast polder landscape of meadows, watercourses and old farms. On the right the Lek ripples along with you. You regularly see a beautiful polder mill. The highlight, of course, is the world-famous Kinderdijkse Mills, the mill corridors that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Old Ameide
In the Alblasserwaard you will also find many picturesque villages, such as Molenaarsgraaf and Goudriaan. Further on you pass through Noordeloos, where you can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by in the village center. Switch back in Ameide to enjoy the historic buildings. This beautiful town on the Lek is one of the oldest cities in Holland! Finally, you pass through the former fortified city of Nieuwpoort.
