Picturesquely situated in front of the Herzogstand (1,731 m), which can also be easily reached by lift, is Kochel a. See. Through the Kochler Moor, which was and is very popular with painters and now with photographers due to its unique atmosphere, you pass Bergkiefern and Birken to Benediktbeuern. The monastery of the Salesianer Don Boscos, which can boast more than 1250 years of history, is worth seeing.
Through the former electoral Bavarian seaside resort of Bad Heilbrunn with its Herb Experience Park you go to Bad Tölz on the Isar. The lively market street, winding streets, the historic Kurviertel - in this city you can comfortably explore the sights on foot.
From Bad Tölz you go via Reichersbeuern and Waakirchen to Gmund on the Tegernsee. You can enjoy the view with a cruise. The lake is located in the middle of a picturesque landscape of Upper Bavaria, surrounded by rolling hills and forested mountains. A stopover at the Tegernsee for a visit to the famous Bräustüberl is worthwhile.
