Stage 1 From Lindau on Lake Constance to the green Allgäu

The old town of Lindau is located on an island in Lake Constance and you will find centuries-old buildings, lively squares and picturesque streets with an almost Mediterranean atmosphere. From Lindau you go to the hilly Allgäu, through meadows and forests, past farms and small villages. On this route, the Allgäu cheese route, you will find many dairies, where cheese is still made by hand according to old traditions.

The next major cities are Oberstaufen and Immenstadt. At the Großen Alpsee in Bühl or in the mountains of the Nature Park Nagelfluhkette, there is a wide range in terms of landscape and sportsmanship. In the AlpSeeHaus you get expert advice and a sandwich with regional products. Full of new energy, you continue via Sonthofen to the brewery village of Rettenberg and via the Rottachsee to Oy, where you pass the highest point at almost 1,000 meters.
