Description
You can make a beautiful cycling route around the Flemish Maldegem through the quiet countryside. You pass through some beautiful villages, including Maldegem itself.
Drongengoed landscape park
You start this bike ride on the edge of Landscape Park Drongengoed. You drive a long way through beautifully varied forests. You will also pass the Drongengoedhoeve, the entire site enjoys monumental protection. The current building dates from 1746, you can enjoy a terrace here, among other things. Then you drive through the countryside on low-traffic roads. In Adegem you will pass the striking Sint-Adrianuskerk with its thirteenth-century crossing tower.
Flemish Middelburg
Maldegem is a pleasant place, in the center of the village you can see beautiful historic buildings, such as the old Sint-Barbara church. You also drive through the Sint-Annapark, which partly consists of an orchard. At the Bladelin Visitor Center you can learn more about the rich history of the village of Middelburg-in-Vlaanderen, highly recommended! You drive through the Netherlands for a while, in Sint-Laureins you can admire the Sint-Laurentius church. It is then wonderful to make kilometers along the leafy Schipdonk Canal.
