You can take a nice walk through the hills near Oudenaarde. You walk through the Geuzenhoek: an area around the village of Korsele where a Protestant community continued to exist after the Eighty Years' War.
Tissenhoven mill
The route starts in Korsele. Here you can see the neo-Gothic Nieuwe Kerk from 1872. It is located on the Koning Willemdreef: this street name is unique in Flanders. In the countryside you walk on low-traffic roads along fields and meadows. Here you have beautiful views of the rolling surroundings. You pass beautiful old farms, from afar you can already see the beautiful eighteenth-century Tissenhoven mill.
Slytherin mill
You descend the Abeelstraat, a slope known among cyclists. Time seems to have stood still a bit in the valley of the Ooschebeek. Here you will find the Zwadderkotmolen, one of the places on your route where you can have a drink and eat. Then you walk back into the hills. It is wonderfully quiet here in the Flemish Ardennes. Ideal to relax for a day.
